Yosetsu Awase (
Appearance
Yosetsu has long black hair spiked up and backward, and rounded gray eyes. He usually wears a headband around his forehead.
Personality
Although he is not talkative, Yosetsu is foul-mouthed and tense. However, in serious or life-or death situations he is very easily startled and becomes much more talkative, while still being foul-mouthed.[1]
Yosetsu is very selfless, as he continued to carry Momo Yaoyorozu with him even though the Chainsaw Nomu was catching up with him, refusing to leave her behind despite her slowing him down. He is also willing to put himself in danger to fulfill a plan, despite showing fear.
He is also said to be very proud of his Quirk and confident in his abilities with it.
Synopsis
U.A. Sports Festival Arc
Yosetsu finishes the Obstacle Race at 12th place.[2] allowing him to continue onto the next event, the Cavalry Battle. He forms a team with Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Juzo Honenuki and Ibara Shiozaki.[3]
At the beginning of the event, Tetsutetsu's team attacks Izuku Midoriya's team with Juzo using his Quirk to trap them, but Izuku uses his jetpack to escape. Tetsutetsu's team attacks them again, but Fumikage Tokoyami's Dark Shadow blocks them off.[4] After the Cavalry Battle ends, Tetsutetsu's team fails to qualify for the final event. Tetsutetsu is confused as to how they lost all their points, and Ibara remarks that it is possibly punishment for taking Minoru Mineta's headband in such an unfair way.[5]
Forest Training Camp Arc
When Class 1-B arrives at the training camp, their homeroom teacher explains that they will be extending their Quirks and that the more they use their Quirks, the stronger they will be by breaking their limits. When Class 1-B witness Class 1-A's training, Yosetsu is taken by surprise. Afterwards, Itsuka Kendo asks Shota Aizawa how they can observe everyone, and he explains that that is the reason the Wild, Wild Pussycats are around.[6]

Abilities
Quirk
Weld (溶接 Yōsetsu?): Yosetsu's Quirk gives him the ability to fuse objects together at the atomic level. However, the Quirk will not work unless he touches both objects.[7]

Construction-Done-Kwik: Weldcraft (早業着工 ウェルドクラフト Hayawaza Chakkō Werudokurafuto?): Yosetsu welds blocks on his enemy to restrain them.[8]
