Nirengeki Shoda (庄 (しょう) 田 (だ) 二 (に) 連 (れん) 撃 (げき) , Shōda Nirengeki^?), also known as Mines (マインズ, Mainzu^?), is a student in Class 1-B at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.

Appearance

Nirengeki is a chubby young man of average height, with short, ice-blue hair and a round face. He has large, wide eyes with small pupils, and is usually seen looking a little sheepish and apologetic; his eyebrows are almost always pointed upwards.

His hero costume consists of a black suit with high collar. It has white lines on the along the edge, on his shoulder and on his chest. He also wears some sort of scouter over his left eye and a radar in the back of his gloved left hand, seemingly connected to this.

Nirengeki has a very humble attitude, as he will not take credit for something he does not feel he earned by his own strength.

Twin Impact (ツインインパクト, Tsuin Inpakuto^?): This quirk can make any attack repeat a second time with several times the initial impact.

Trivia

• His surname, Shōda (庄田, Shōda^?), is homophonous with Shōda (掌打, Shōda^?), meaning "palm strike"; while his given name, Nirengeki (二連撃, Nirengeki^?), means "two hit combo". Thus, his full name translates to "palm strike, two hit combo". In the fifth volume, Horikoshi referred to this as his "greatest naming achievement to date."
• He likes to watch boxing matches.
• He shares his birthday with fellow classmate Manga Fukidashi.
• Along with Ibara Shiozaki, Nirengeki was also originally planned to be in Class 1-A.
