On May 26, 2019, the Japanese music label Legendoor announced that Yuki Hayashi had returned to compose the soundtrack for this season.[6] Hayashi would later confirm this himself on social media just one week later.[7]

On June 6, 2019, Funimation announced that it had acquired the season for international streaming through its FunimationNow service.[8]

On June 16, 2019, it was announced that it will premiere on October 12, 2019.
