It's probably moot or just what I'm noticing, but why does the English dub of My Hero Academia have Fat Gum's Quirk spelled as "Fat Adsorption" while his page says "Fat Absorption"? I mean, it has to be one or the other.
Hello, Ushiboy (or should I address you as Ushi-shonen?\ it's better than reffering to you as Cow Boy)
You and I have a major problem. Frankly, your rabid attempts at censorship of my laguage are absurd. Everybody, even you, swears. I've gotten up KingExplosionMurderer's ass about this as well, but you need to understand that the Internet, like the great nation of America, is a free place. I can say what I want to as long as there isn't any malicious intent and it's not illegal (IE: I can't shout fire into a full theatre and run away laughing but I can tell you to shove it) My swearing is ultimately minor in the grand scheme of things, and i'd appreciate you stop your nagging about it. In addition, my swearing isn't even that bad. I've stated repeatedly that swearing is to punctuate a point or to add flavor and it's not like I swear all the time. Ultimately, I think you should focus on moderating things that are actual problems, if I may be so bold.
As I said in my reply to your comment, this isn't up for debate. Discussions is a website that can be accessed by anyone on the internet, even if they're too young to be on it, which is why we have a rule against swearing on there. Also, honestly, it just makes conversation foul and hostile-looking and makes you seem like someone who is incapable of expressing themself by any other means than cursing, which I'm sure is not how you want to come across.
I'm by no means saying that you're breaking any laws or that you cannot swear anywhere on the internet, you just need to respect the guidelines we have in place on Discussions if you wish to keep using the site.
Also, the way I write "ushii" in the Japanese spelling of my name means it better translates to "ox" rather than "cow," and please refer to me without any honorifics.
1: Swearing is an occupational hazzard of the internet. If the young ones are here when they aren't supposed to be, that's their problem
2: I think swearing puncutates a conversation nicely. being foul is personally attacking someone. Whilist I could do that, I haven't (yet) I can express myself in many ways, but prefer to do it through opinion, with swearing added for flavor. How I "come across" is virtually irrelevant as long as the message gets out.
If you best defense for swearing is to add flavor, then frankly you have a losing argument.
It's not making your arguments better. It's just trying to make them louder and sound more aggressive. Even if it's not being hostile towards someone, it does incite a terrible, possibly unwelcoming atmosphere.
Also, please do not go thinking the internet is a "free place". Most private websites, including Fandom, have policies regarding what's acceptable or not, mostly to appease advertisers which are the main source of income. Money speaks volumes, just like in the real world.
It's not a defense. it's what I use it for. Full stop.
Making them aggressive forces people to pay attention and counterattack the argument presented to them. I'd prefer an unwelcoming, but free atmosphere over a welcoming, but sensitive and foolish one any day, thanks.
I'm aware money talks, but I doubt even the almighty advertisers give a shit if you swear a little. (See what I did there? The advertisers didn't smite you, did they?)
I would like to get your opinion on cursed competitions.
I'm now 100 against them. They usually escalate quickly with inappropriate images along with breaking the rules. I wanted issue a statement declaring them banned from Discussion tonight [] but I don't want to overstep. I know of 2 competitions that were hosted by Otaku king 54 and I think another, probably the second one, was hosted by Legendary(?) but I believe that got locked.
i have been using my message wall to chat with someone for weeks now because it is a less mha related chat and it would not be correct to use the disscussions page for something like this as it did not really start off mha related and we users have been told not to use the disscussions page for posts or disscussions such as "hey @particular_user just want to talk" this is an incorrect use of the disscussions page, as stated accross a few rules in the guidelines. please unlock the thread as i was trying to do the right thing and not use the disscussions page for talking to one user alone, cluttering up the new section with pointless, non mha related rubbish and trying to have a long, private, off-topic chat with one friend while trying to follow the rules and guidlelines.
I also have not seen any guidelines or rules dictating that using my message wall for this purpose is incorrect or against the rules. Rules of course are protecting/helping everyone on the wiki to ensure they have the best time possible while using it. having a calm, off-topic conversation privately with someone via my message wall would neither harm nor cause detriment to others especially the vast majority of the fandom users since they can't see it unless they methodically seek out my message wall and that particular thread. whereas everyone could see the conversation if it were posted to the disscussions page.
apologees for the long rant but i feel like doing this stuff is a complete waste of both your time and mine.
