Inasa has the belief that all Heroes have "hot spirits" that enable them to motivate and help others and those with hot spirits are the real Heroes. Inasa despises people who do not have the qualities of his ideal version of a Hero which is why he hates Shoto and Endeavor. |

− | When he was young, Inasa admired the Hero Endeavor because he symbolized his belief that all Heroes have "hot spirits". The young Inasa tried to get Endeavor's autograph, but Endeavor refuted Inasa's request and told him not to stand in his way. Inasa felt betrayed by Endeavor's unheroic behavior and his admiration for Endeavor slowly turned to hatred. |

+ | |
||
− | Inasa participated in U.A. Entrance Exam the same year as Izuku Midoriya. During the exam which consisted of a marathon, Inasa spotted Shoto Todoroki and became interested in him after seeing his great usage of ice; although Inasa had a bad feeling coming from Shoto, he felt reassured that once they became classmates, Shoto's eyes would not bother him. Inasa and Shoto reached the goal but Inasa reached the goal by a stretch, making him the first to cross the finish line while Shoto came in second. After the marathon, Inasa approached Shoto and praised him. However, Shoto refuted Inasa just like his father and told him that he was a nuisance, which shocked Inasa. Inasa received the top score and passed. However, he declined U.A. High School's admission. Instead, Inasa enrolled into Shiketsu High School. |
||
+ | Inasa disapproves of heroes who do not have hot spirits and believes people filled with hatred are unfit to be heroes and he refuses to recognize them as such. This is why Inasa hates Endeavor and his son Shoto, as both of them had cold, angry eyes when Inasa first met them and both of them blew him off despite his warm greetings. Inasa's grudge against the two Todorokis eventually drove him to become just like them: having cold, angry eyes whenever he encountered Shoto during the hero licensing exam, in stark contrast to his normally exuberant and friendly self. He even told Shoto right to his face that he hated both him and his father. Inasa hated Shoto so much so that it costed him his Provisional Hero License the first time around because they refused to work together. |

+ | This incident caused Inasa to reflect on himself, however, upon realising that he had become just like the people he hated. He also apologized to Shoto following the exam and despite admitting that he still hated him, Inasa was truly sincere, showing that his hatred of Shoto had at least toned down some. Inasa's animosity towards Shoto, and soon Endeavor, subsided entirely by the time of the Remedial Exam: towards the former after the two managed to come together and earn the trust and friendship of the Masegaki Primary School students, and towards the latter after the newly crowned No. 1 Hero pledged to become a better person. |

⚫ | |||
− | At the Provisional Hero License Exam site, Takoba National Stadium, Inasa interrupts Class 1-A's huddle. Seiji Shishikura scolds Inasa for being rude. Inasa expresses his apology to Class 1-A with vigor and bows to them while smashing his head into the ground, much to some of Class 1-A's shock. Other participants of the exam recognize the students with berets; Katsuki Bakugo comments that there is a high school in the west that is on par with U.A. The people standing in front of Class 1-A are students from the famous Shiketsu High. Inasa energetically expresses his excitement about competing with U.A. and wishes Class 1-A the best of luck. As the other students of Shiketsu High and Inasa leave, Shota Aizawa tells Class 1-A that the energetic student's name is Inasa Yoarashi and states that he is a powerful contender; at U.A's entrance exam, the same year Class 1-A took it, Inasa received the top |

||
+ | |
||
− | In the first phase of the exam, Inasa uses his Quirk to gather a great number of balls and throw them all at once in his opponents, being quickly approved in the first phase. At the end of the first stage, while the approved students rest, Shoto confronts Inasa and asks if he has done something to him, since Inasa has been acting strange towards him, and Inasa tells him that he hates him and his father. |
||
+ | Overall Abilities: Inasa is a very powerful hero-in-training who earned the top score in the U.A. Entrance Exam for recommended students. This means that his abilities are believed to be above that of Shoto Todoroki, one of U.A. High School's strongest students. Even though he withdrew his application from U.A. High School, Inasa established himself as one of the most powerful students at Shiketsu High School. |
||
+ | Inasa also possesses a great handle on his powerful Quirk, Whirlwind. He can channel various wind currents at once and manipulate them to move debris and people without making them collide with one another. Offensively, Inasa often sends strong gusts of wind at his opponents, effectively blowing them away. Defensively, Whirlwind is effective at deflecting projectiles and giving Inasa the maneuverability to evade incoming attacks, as his Quirk also enables him to fly. Inasa is able to propel himself off the ground through wind bursts as well, which grants him a speed boost that does not require the aid of his hero costume. Due to his proficient Quirk handling, Inasa was able to pass the first test of the Provisional Hero License Exam on his own (a test normally reserved for second-year students) while eliminating 120 other examinees at the same time. His proficiency of his control over the Quirk was strong enough that he can use it to lift an entire swarm of Twice Doubles conjured by Himiko Toga during the Final War, benefitted by the heavy storm which increased his power potential. |
||
− | At the start of the second phase of the exam, Inasa starts his rescue using his Quirk to move the rubble and the people under them but is cautioned by supervisors for being too careless. Shortly after, Gang Orca appears playing a villain role in the exam. Inasa is one of the first students to confront him and tries to use his hand to attack the villains but Shoto's fire gets in the way, nullifying both attacks. Inasa and Shoto argue. Inasa mentions the reason he hates both Shoto and his father. Both end up being defeated by Gang Orca and his group and failing the exam. |
||

⚫ | |||
+ | In the final stage of the licensing exam, Inasa and Shoto faced off against Gang Orca, the No. 10 (currently No. 12) Pro Hero. But due to the pair's personal conflict with each other, Inasa's Whirlwind clashed with Shoto's Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk because heat from the latter's flames compromises the airflow, leading to the pair being subdued by Gang Orca and his sidekicks. Fortunately, Izuku Midoriya intervened and chided Inasa and Shoto, making the immobile duo realize their respective errors in judgement, and finally worked together. With their newfound camaraderie, Inasa and Shoto combined their elemental powers to create a tornado of fire that engulfed Gang Orca, nearly defeating the Killer Whale Hero. In the aftermath of the licensing exam, Gang Orca noted that if the battle had been drawn out any longer, he would have been defeated by the collaboration of Shoto, Inasa, and the newly-arrived Izuku. |
||
− | Later on, Inasa and Camie Utsushimi retake the Hero License exam with Shoto and Katsuki. While there, they have to fight against the new generation of kids who have strong quirks. Inasa ends up passing his exam alongside the others. |
||
+ | Indomitable Spirit: Inasa possesses an indomitable spirit, constantly exercising and practicing his hot-blooded philosophy. As a child, Inasa's fiery demeanor was temporarily shaken when Endeavor coldly rebuffed Inasa's friendly personality. Years later, during U.A. Entrance Exam for recommended students, Inasa was similarly rebuked by Shoto, causing to Inasa to emotionally snap, redact his U.A. High School application, and develop a cold disposition towards Shoto and Endeavor for their previous callousness. |
||
⚫ | |||
⚫ | |||
+ | Inasa's resolve became rather erratic during the Provisional Licensing Exam, wherein he had a re-encounter and major altercation with Shoto, having carried a grudge against him since their first meeting. The eventual infighting between the two elemental users resulted in them being repeatedly unable to land an attack on Gang Orca and were left at the mercy of him and his sidekicks. Soon after, however, Izuku arrived on the scene and scolded Shoto and Inasa for their actions, making the weakened students realize their mistake with being uncooperative with one another. The pair reaffirmed their convictions, put their differences aside, and finally worked together, despite being incapacitated. Unfortunately, their personal conflict with each other cost them the licensing exam and had to take remedial courses to make up for their imprudence and failure. |
||
− | Overall Abilities: Shota comments that Inasa is very powerful, as shown when he earned the top score in U.A.'s entrance exam. Furthermore, he not only passed the first phase of the hero license exam by moving on his own, he was also the first to do so and defeated 120 applicants at the same time. He was speculated to be even stronger than Shoto and appears to be physically superior to him at the very least. |
||
+ | Inasa realized the consequences of his obsessive contempt towards Endeavor and Shoto, acknowledging the fact that he had blindly become the type of person he hates the most: cold and hate filled. Having undergone self-reflection, Inasa and Shoto displayed fully mutual congeniality towards each other when they crossed paths again at the Remedial Exam. But Inasa did scorn at Endeavor's presence at the makeup course, displaying that while the aerokinetic is now on good terms with Shoto, it isn't the same in regard to Endeavor. At the end of the Remedial Exam's first day, Inasa overheard Endeavor's proclamation of becoming a hero of whom Shoto can be proud and saw that there was no trace of enmity in the eyes of the Flame Hero. That very moment, Inasa recognized the change in Endeavor, discarded his animosity towards the Flame Hero, and declared that he will be cheering for the new No. 1 Hero, who openly accepted Inasa's cordiality. Inasa still holds onto his beliefs but understood that he too needs to move forward. Overall, Inasa's reinvigorated will allowed him to see past the blinding feelings of malice and become a more proactive, hot-blooded individual who can recognize the efforts of even those whom he once loathed. |
||

||
− | ===Shoto Todoroki=== |
||
− | The two competed with each other in the U.A. Entrance Exam, which ended with Inasa getting a close victory in the marathon portion. Despite recognizing him to be Endeavor's son, Inasa was impressed with Shoto's display of power. To his horror, Shoto's cold response to Inasa caused him to reminisce about his first encounter with Endeavor. |
||
+ | ===Quirk=== |
||
− | This event led Inasa to despise Shoto for the same reason he despises Endeavor: their equally cold demeanor. Inasa's grudge against Shoto was strong enough to refuse enrollment in U.A., despite how much he loved the school (as evident from his first appearance). |

− | When the two met once again in the Hero License Exam, Inasa found Shoto's current demeanor as an improvement from before. |
||
+ | Inasa is also able to use whirlwinds for offensive purposes. He can attack his enemies and blow them away with gusts powerful enough to break apart solid ice. He can also use the wind to increase his own mobility, and with aid from his costume, he's even able to fly. |
||
− | However, Inasa's hatred of Shoto is still evident and strong when the two clashed with one another during the Second Exam of the Hero License Exam. Their conflict almost resulted in Shindou getting hurt had Izuku not saved him. Like Endeavor, Inasa refuses to recognize Shoto as a Hero. |

− | After they both fail the Hero License Exam, Inasa apologizes to Shoto for making him fail, to which Shoto doesn't blame him for it since it was his own fault. I believe heroes should be hot-blooded!! So good job with this white-hot battle, guys!! I freakin' love it!! If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to join this white-hot battle!! Please and... thank you!!!Inasa Yoarashi in "White-Hot Battle! To Each Their Own Strengths!"
Inasa Yoarashi (
Appearance
Inasa is a very tall and well-built young man with buzzed, dark brown hair and black eyes.
In his school uniform, Inasa wears the same white collared shirt and dark pants as all Shiketsu High students. He also sports Shiketsu's signature hat whether he be in uniform or in his hero costume.
Inasa's Hero costume consists of a thick burgundy suit pinned together with yellow buttons. A cape is draped over his shoulders, the collar lined with thick fur, and it almost conceals the jetpack-like propulsion system attached to his back. His left arm is completely concealed by the thick, brown material and his hand sports a large tan glove with air pipes on it, whereas his right arm is completely exposed other than the skintight blue sleeve that appears to be apart of his undersuit. Similarly to his left hand, are several tubes around his torso and ankles, which are used to expel wind power to aid with his Quirk. Plates resembling gas masks pad his knees and left shoulder, and he completes his costume with large brown shoes and a pair of goggles around his head.
During the Final War against All For One, the villain unleashed an onslaught of Rivet Stabs that shot Inasa by the head, though the hero managed to survive the headshot with only a cut from his left eye to the forehead.

Personality
Inasa is an energetic, hyperactive, and enthusiastic young man who expresses himself with vigor. He's very loud and can come off as obnoxious but he's actually oddly polite and speaks very formally most of the time. Inasa claims there is almost nothing that he dislikes, and growing up as a kid, he enjoyed everything, even bugs.[3] Inasa has a habit of approaching strangers to try and make friends with them. Sometimes, he gets so worked up that he'll start talking emphatically about being passionate, and the person or people he's talking to tend to get confused.[4]
Inasa's signature trait is his undying love for passion above all else. He believes all heroes should have a fiery passion that motivates them to help others. Inasa also appears to enjoy passionate battles and desires to be a part of them.[5] While very headstrong and vocal, he's actually rather pure and light-hearted underneath, with petty insults tending to bounce right off him, while other things can affect him more deeply.
Inasa disapproves of heroes who do not have hot spirits and believes people filled with hatred are unfit to be heroes and he refuses to recognize them as such. Inasa hated Shoto so much so that it costed him his Provisional Hero License the first time around because they refused to work together.[3]
This incident caused Inasa to reflect on himself, however, upon realising that he had become just like the people he hated.
Abilities
Overall Abilities: Inasa is a very powerful hero-in-training who earned the top score in the U.A. Entrance Exam for recommended students. This means that his abilities are believed to be above that of Shoto Todoroki, one of U.A. High School's strongest students.[3] Even though he withdrew his application from U.A. High School, Inasa established himself as one of the most powerful students at Shiketsu High School.
Inasa also possesses a great handle on his powerful Quirk, Whirlwind. He can channel various wind currents at once and manipulate them to move debris and people without making them collide with one another.[6] Offensively, Inasa often sends strong gusts of wind at his opponents, effectively blowing them away. Due to his proficient Quirk handling, Inasa was able to pass the first test of the Provisional Hero License Exam on his own (a test normally reserved for second-year students) while eliminating 120 other examinees at the same time.[5] His proficiency of his control over the Quirk was strong enough that he can use it to lift an entire swarm of Twice Doubles conjured by Himiko Toga during the Final War, benefitted by the heavy storm which increased his power potential.[7]
In the final stage of the licensing exam, Inasa and Shoto faced off against Gang Orca, the No. 10 (currently No. 12) Pro Hero. But due to the pair's personal conflict with each other, Inasa's Whirlwind clashed with Shoto's Half-Cold Half-Hot Quirk because heat from the latter's flames compromises the airflow,[8] leading to the pair being subdued by Gang Orca and his sidekicks. Fortunately, Izuku Midoriya intervened and chided Inasa and Shoto, making the immobile duo realize their respective errors in judgement, and finally worked together. With their newfound camaraderie, Inasa and Shoto combined their elemental powers to create a tornado of fire that engulfed Gang Orca, nearly defeating the Killer Whale Hero.[9] In the aftermath of the licensing exam, Gang Orca noted that if the battle had been drawn out any longer, he would have been defeated by the collaboration of Shoto, Inasa, and the newly-arrived Izuku.
Indomitable Spirit: Inasa possesses an indomitable spirit, constantly exercising and practicing his hot-blooded philosophy.
Inasa's resolve became rather erratic during the Provisional Licensing Exam, wherein he had a re-encounter and major altercation with Shoto, having carried a grudge against him since their first meeting.
Inasa realized the consequences of his obsessive contempt towards Endeavor and Shoto, acknowledging the fact that he had blindly become the type of person he hates the most: cold and hate filled.
Quirk
Whirlwind (
He can create incredible gusts of wind, and has extremely precise control over them, being able to delicately handle people while clearing away rubble using various different types of winds.[6]
Inasa is also able to use whirlwinds for offensive purposes. He can attack his enemies and blow them away with gusts powerful enough to break apart solid ice.[10] He can also use the wind to increase his own mobility, and with aid from his costume, he's even able to fly.[11]

Trivia
- Inasa's surname contains the kanji for "night" (夜 yo?) and "storm" (嵐 arashi?), and his first name is written in katakana and thus has no accurate kanji reading, but can refer to the strong winds that occur during typhoon season in Japan.
- As well as being in reference to strong winds, Inasa's first name can also indicate a direction; originating east before heading westward. This could reflect the fact that Inasa had the initial intent to attend U.A (East) before he made the decision to attend Shiketsu (West).
- The East-to-West reading of Inasa might also reference the Coriolis effect, which causes prevailing winds in the Northern Hemisphere to blow from East to West.
- According to his Volume 12 Profile:
- Inasa likes hot blood.
- Horikoshi exclaims that his hero costume is very hard to draw.
- Inasa's name is similar to Isana, a character from Horikoshi's previous work, Oumagadoki Zoo.
- Isana's design and personality, however, were used for the Curator in My Hero Academia: Clash! Heroes Battle.
- Inasa shares his Japanese and English voice actors with other characters.
- His Japanese voice actor, Ryōta Iwasaki, also voices Innsmouth's follower and the Shie Hassaikai member.
- His English voice actor, Matt Shipman, also voices Mr. Brave, Takeshita, and Sen Kaibara.
