Copy (コピー Kopī?) is a Quirk used by Neito Monoma.

Description

Copy

Neito copying Hardening.

Copy allows Neito to utilize a Quirk after coming into contact with its respective user.[1]

He does not need to make contact with much, as a few strands of hair seem to be enough for his Quirk to take effect, and, after doing so, Neito gains full access to the Quirk he has copied and can use it however he likes. Copying multiple Quirks at once is possible as well, although he is still restricted to using only one at a time.[1] Despite this, the effects of the Quirks, as long as they don't directly affect his body, can still remain even if he isn’t using them, as Size, for example, will still keep objects enlarged even after he switches to another Quirk.[2]

However, a drawback is that Neito can only use the Quirk he has copied for ten minutes (originally 5 minutes in his debut), losing access to it after that specific time limit is over. It is also implied that the minimum number of Quirks he can copy and switch between at a time is four, despite the fact that he only wears three stopwatches in his costume.[2]

He also seems to instantly know how to activate any Quirk that he copies, even if it is his first time seeing or using said Quirk, the only exception to this being his copying of One For All. While there were visual effects of the Quirk being copied like the color pattern appearing on his skin, there didn't seem to be any actual effect, which caused people to believe he was bluffing about using it. It is currently unknown if the failure of Neito’s Quirk to properly copy and grant him access to One For All was because of the fact that it is made up of multiple Quirks, because the stockpiled power from the recent One for All holders couldn’t be copied for any reason and rather quirk was in the form the first One For All user had, or because of One For All’s specific trait preventing the taking of its power.

So far, Neito has been shown copying the following Quirks:

Trivia

  • It is unknown whether this Quirk is able to copy Mutant-type Quirks, but its restrictions might be similar to Erasure, as that can only disable Emitter and Transformer-type Quirks.
  • It is also unknown how this Quirk would react when they touch a person with multiple Quirks.
